Political Notes: Delegate challenges colleague to raise funds for Polar Bear Plunge

Del. Herb McMillan, R-Annapolis, will compete with Del. Jon Cardin, D-Baltimore, to see who can raise the most money in Saturday's annual Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park.

McMillan said he collected nearly $2,000 last year. The event raises money for the Special Olympics of Maryland.

Donations can be made online at www. plunge2012.kintera.org. McMillan said checks made out to the Special Olympics of Maryland can also be sent to his office at 6 Bladen St., Annapolis, MD 21401. Call 410-841-3211.
