Scholarships


Thank you for your interest in the Maryland House of Delegates Scholarship Program. Each year, Delegate Jon Cardin will be awarding a limited number of scholarships to a select group of graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students. Keep in mind that the deadline to apply is April 2.

To be eligible for the Cardin Honors Scholarship, applicants must:  

--Have a current GPA of 3.00 or higher

--Plan to enroll in a college or university in Maryland

--Be a registered voter in Maryland's 11th Legislative District. Applicants under the age of 18 are exempt from the voting requirement but must reside in District 11. Click here to verify residency requirements.

You must submit the following materials to receive consideration for your application:

--A complete, signed application. Click here to print the form in Microsoft Word. This website is optimized for Mozilla Firefox (and so the form may not open using older versions of Internet Explorer).

--A copy of your transcript.

--A photocopy of your voter registration card with party affiliation crossed out OR a copy of your online voter registration verfication with party affiliation crossed out. Applicants under age 18 are exempt.

--The award will be rescinded if the applicant enrolls in an out-of-state school.

--The Cardin Honors Scholarship is a one-year award.

--Applicants must reapply each year to be considered for a new scholarship.

--The deadline to apply for this year's scholarship is April 2.

--Scholarship recipients will be notified through the mail after June 1.

--Funds will be distributed to your college or university by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
